I don’t know about you guys out there, but I got that strange hair-on-the-back-of-my-neck-standing-up feeling, as I was driving into work this morning. As usual, I was going back and forth between Opie and Anthony, and XM’s 24 hr. Hockey Channel “Home Ice”, when it struck me – TONIGHT IT STARTS!! We are entering that glorious time of year where there are ups and downs, goals, assists, PIMs, Al Trautwig’s between period interviews, Stan Fischler’s comments (I feel he is pretty much dead-on with them), Sam Rosen and that former Islander (I even HATE typing that name) announcer Joe Micheletti, camera shots of Sather with a cigar, etc., etc. [Please, if I forgot any obscure observations, post 'em...I love that junk.] So, without further adou, bring on the Panthers! If I hear of anything remotely interesting in the Ranger Universe later on today, I will post.
In closing, Drury caused a deep wound to us Ranger Fans 4 and a half months ago. Over the course of the summer that wound started to scab a little, but now it is time to rip that scab open and start….wait for it…wait for it….BLEEDING BLUE again!
