Whew, that was some stretch without any games – especially this early in the season. Tonight we get to relive our past glory with a game against the 0-6 Thrashers (0-10 in the last 10 games – our sweep adding to the Atlanta misery. The Thrashers, who just fired their head coach yesterday, will be all fired up….great, right when we get to play the league’s laughing stocks, they get a much needed spark. Hartley was done for all intents and purposes after we swept them. He couldn’t make up his mind as to which goalie was the starter in the playoffs. That more than anything hurt his team in the post season. As Ranger fans, we know that the 2 goalie tandem never really works out. We had a couple of years where VanB and Richter were splitting time. I didn’t mind because I liked both equally, BUT we didn’t win anything until we jettisoned Beezer and chose Richter as our numero uno netminder.
