I would like to thank Chris and Catherine (the first time I called her that… I think) for their contribution to the site. It looked like fun…I wish I had been there. Make sure you put that one-zie in a frame or something! Chris it was great to finally meet you, and Catherine (still hard to call you that) it was great working with you for the past few years….good luck in your new school, and both of you keep in touch. Thanks again.

A group of Rangers at the podium…Mess, Richter, Domi, Leetch, and a couple of others
Well, a home-and-home weekend series against Boston provided the Rangers with more stress then they had last year. At least last years team decided to turn on the jets right around this time, to turn their season around. That surge gave us fans hope for this year…until now. The team is going to need some kind of shake-up. Unfortunately, the coach always takes the hit. Tom Renney is NOT the reason this team is in a funk, but it will eventually be made to look like he is. You will hear quotes like…”He lost the team”…or “They weren’t buying into his philosophy anymore”….”They need a fresh perspective”…”His system was __________ “(you fill in the blank). Jagr won’t take the hit due to his fragile psyche. Shanahan won’t take the hit. Gomez won’t nor should he. Hank won’t. Hell, with only 4 players with 40 or more points, we’re lucky we are within that 8th place spot. We have 5 players with 11 or more goals, but no one with more than 15 (Shanny); 14 (Jagr), 12 (Drury); 11(Gomez) and 11 (Rozsival). It should get interesting from here on out….
First and foremost, I would like to thank Chuck Roth for donating the tickets, and coming up with the idea of a Bleeding Blue Annual Event! Secondly, I want to thank both Chuck and Johnnie Butler for a great night out. I had a blast. It brought back memories of the late 80′s/early 90′s when we pretty much did the same thing.
Well, anyway, It must’ve been the three of us that brought the combined luck needed for the 1st win in ’08 by the Blueshirts. While, to be honest, my recollection of any events that happened during the game are fuzzy at best. We were surrounded by Habs fans, and I kept hearing the French accents of the couple next to me…very surreal. There are pictures below…I only took 3….and they are with us in a Goalie Standie.
Just to make sure I got the details right, I watched the ol Rangers in 60 replay this morning that I TIVO’d last night. (Gee, I must’ve known that there would be copious amounts of yellow liquid flowing…wait….that sounds like a German porn flick…)
Drury, Prucha, Dawes, and Straka all got goals, and Hank only gave up one. They didn’t get to that 6th loss in a row. I just hope now, that they can kick it in gear like they did last year. As of today, we are in 9th place (in playoff standings) with somewhere around 34-36 games remaining. No better time than now to start rolling.
It feels like October again both with the losses mounting, and goal scoring taking a dive. The NYRs lost last night 3-2 in a shoot out. A t least they were the team that came back….Drury scored with 6.2 seconds left in reg time. That dude seems to do that all the time…at least he did it for us, not against us as he did in the playoffs last year. We also lost Shanahan to a knee contusion AND Straka to a “stinger” in OT. Let’s hope they are not seriously injured. Should know more tomorrow.GAme Reports:
In Edmonton tonight – 10PM Start – Going to be tough to make it through that game after a long day of NFL playoff games…go Bucs! So far on this trip 0-2, including a shutout late Thursday night at the hands of Vancouver’s Loungo. The night before our old buddy Mike Keenan’s Flames ladled out a loss to our guys. Hollweg fought just 4 seconds into the 1st period…will try to locate and post in dropping gloves section. As for my posts here, they are coming few and far between due to the fact that I used to do all of the posts during my lunch break at work. Now our filter blocks me from accessing my site. So, I am now left to squeezing in posts from when I get home and have dinner and help put the kids to sleep, and then my own slumber. I will try to keep up.
