Well, we got a top six defenseman (Backman), and a good solid forward(Sjostrom) (these two will jump into the lineup for sure) the other pieces will probably be shipped out to Hartford. Montoya is gone…he had no chance here anyway, and Hossa is going bye-bye as well…finally! Lundqvist has played with both of the players at various times. Bottom line – They did not get rid of young players/good prospects. See below for more coverage:
More screen caps of the final trades…
Here are the latest….I screen cap’d the list…saves on typing.
Dan Boyle resigned with Tampa late last night, so now we look towards this direction…
“Steve Zipay reports the NY Rangers are pushing for perhaps two defensemen at the trade deadline having lost Paul Mara for at least two weeks to broken bones in his face. It’s believed the Blueshirts have interest in Columbus’s Ron Hainsey and Colorado’s John-Michael Liles, among others.”
This is from Spector’s Rumors…
“Various sources reports the Colorado Avalanche announced the signing of former Av forward Peter Forsberg to a one-year contract for the remainder of the season. “
Not bad…4 points over this past weekend. Let’s hope Jagr has ignited. More importantly, the trade deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th, at 3:00 PM. What moves will the blueshirts make? Supposedly, they are after a couple of defensemen(Dan Boyle and Barret Jackman) …it really depends where you get your info from. I will try to post throughout the day regarding any trades, be it big or small, Rangers or not…
I had to put this in here…the only thing I’m looking forward to other then the NHL playoffs is Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull….it comes out in May people! Hit the link to see the preview.

Six years at about 6.5 mill per year. Maybe now he can get his focus back….is this signing good or bad? We’ll find out.Reports of Hank’s Signing:
The Blueshirts shutout Philly on Saturday behind the goaltending of Steve V. (His second shutout in a row against the flyers.) On Sunday, the Caps won in OT – a PP goal.Game Reports:
They have a week off (almost). Next game is against Buffalo at the Garden, Saturday at 1:00PM…..I’m going with my brother…hopefully I will take some pix and post.
Zednik took a skate to the right side of his neck yesterday, bringing back memories of Clint Malarchuk clutching his lacerated larynx-area wound. Both incidentally occurred in Buffalo. Video is posted under “Misc. Video” section…as is Malarchuk’s (3rd to last video on page; Zedniks is right on top!).
