Well, Zeke will be able to rest at ease now that Nedved has been jettisoned into relative obscurity. Back to Czech Repub. he goes. Potter and Fahey, both have been impressive so far in the pre-season, are still around. Sent down to Hartford were all the usual suspects…Byers, Moore, Dupont, Parenteau. Andreas Jamtin, i liked, but unfortunately, there are only so many spots open. Jamtin showed the kind of grit and determination needed to stay, I felt. From Blueshirt bulletin, “Five forwards are still competing for the four remaining roster spots on the wing — Aaron Voros, Dan Fritsche, Lauri Korpikoski, Pat Rissmiller, and Freddie Sjostrom.” Who is the odd man out? Sjostrom probably has the best trade value…even then we probably wouldn’t get more than a 2nd/3rd round pick for him.
Other interesting news, has Drury being taken out of the 2nd line center position, and has him being inserted on the wing on the 1st line….strange! I guess there isn’t any chemistry (get used to that word, you will hear it A LOT!!!!) between Gomer and Zherdev….
Well, the Blueshirts play today against the Devils at 1pm, then head to the land of neutrality, timepieces and large-scale bank accounts…Switzerland.
