3 Games to 1   Leave a comment

With the Rangers gunning for their 4th win of this series, expect Washington to unload on Henrik (as if they haven’t been already). Let’s hope Avery can stay out of the box in the third period. Last but not least, we need Zherdev and Antripov to START contributing in this series. If we make it out of this round, we get Boston. We will need everyone running on all cylinders.

Ovechkin Kicked Out of Practice Facility   Leave a comment

Oh yeah, and we’re up 2 games to nil. Tonight’s game will be exciting as we are back at MSG for some home cookin.

Looks like Ovechkin is trying to play games with the Ranger’s heads…I don’t think it will be a smart course of action.

1 Down, 15 more Wins to Go!   Leave a comment

I’m not that optimistic, but with a solid win in D.C., and a few more like that….BAM we’re in the 2nd round. I don’t want to look too far ahead, you know, take it one game at a time, (and whatever cliche you want to add!)…

Drury….leg or wrist?? This seems to the most protected secret this side of Area 51!  He’s better suited to sit out a few games, especially if it allows him to heal enough to play productively. Let’s be honest, if it’s sore and hurting now, a few playoff games later, it’ll be way worse. So, do we keep Voros in and let Drury heal, or risk further damage on Drury’s undisclosed injury…that’s the million dollar question.

As far as the goalie matchup goes…well, Theodore never, ever, ever put fear into me when the Rangers would play him…I still feel that way. Pepper him with shots and you are guaranteed a few goals.

Here are todays links…I will start posting links from the opposing team’s city!

We Are In!   Leave a comment

Henrik saved our bacon again. His stop in the 3rd period off of Carcillo was typical Hank. Avery played a solid game. Callahan is showing why he continually is amongst the team leaders in minutes played. Naslund needs to build off of last nights performance, and start to roll. The team overall played a solid game.

After a solid game like last night, we are not only in the big dance, but could also do some damage. Will they get past the 2nd round? Who knows. It looks like we will faceoff against either the Caps or the Bruins. Neither of which really scares me. Actually out of all 8 that have secured a playoff berth, we have played tight even games against them. Well, we close out this season at 5pm Sunday vs. the same Flyer team we saw last night…then it’s on to the glorious post season!

3 Games to Go!   Leave a comment

Well, it comes down to 3 games….3 for the Rangers and 3 for the Panthers.  We are tied (we would get in right now due to more wins)…and we get the surging Canadiens tomorrow night. We win 3…we are in and would get Boston. I can’t say I’m terribly afraid of Boston even though I should be. But, let us get in before we go down that road. LET’S GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!   Leave a comment

I am too pissed off to write coherently…even after 20 hours have passed. The game, was yet another display of the Ranger’s inept power play. How many times will it come back to bite them in the ass? Well, with 4 to go – most importantly, a HUGE game against Montreal – we will have to hold our collective breath.  Who else will be keeping an eye on the FLA vs. ATL game tonight??

6 to Go!   Leave a comment

We are now precariously one point up in the standings from complete and utter embarassment. 6 games to go…all against teams battling for that last few spots.  So, now it becomes the ol’ score board watching that dominates this time of year. Instead of being an OCD Rangers fan, now I have to watch EVERY GAME and hope we can get in. How much fun would a first round matchup with the Devs be…especially with Avery back in the fold? or Boston? We shall see!

Drury finally does SOMETHING!   Leave a comment

Even though he gave the puck away that led to that god-awful goal, he semi-redeemed himself by netting the shoot-out winner. We keep this up…we may be a force to be reckoned with come mid April!

Ahhh…a nice home-and-home weekend with Philly!   Leave a comment

Hey, we are only 4 points behind the Flyers at this very moment. How good would two wins be this weekend? If we could grab even 3 out odf 4 points this weekend, I will go out on a limb and say we will make the playoffs. How the team handles these 2 very important games will  tell us all we need to know as we go forward from here. Hank is slowly but surely establishing his place in the ol’ Hockey Hall of Fame for setting the record with his 4th season in a row with 30 or more wins in his first 4 seasons.
